Huamei Thread Company Limited, a Sino-American joint venture, is established by Ningbo Veken Elite Group Co., Ltd and American & Efird International B. V. with a total investment of RMB 204 millions on April 30, 2003. Ningbo Veken Elite Group Co., Ltd is publicly traded on Shanghai Stock Exchange (Stock Code: A Shares 600152). American & Efird International B. V. is a subsidiary of Ruddick Corporation (NYSE: RDK).
At present it is one of the largest sewing thread manufacturers in China even the world. With the annual production capacity of 15000 tons, Huamei provides customers home and abroad with various threads, such as spun polyester sewing thread, rayon embroidery thread, trilobal polyester filament embroidery thread, cotton wrapped poly core sewing thread, polyester wrapped poly core sewing thread, polyester filament sewing thread, nylon thread, textured polyester sewing thread, mercerized and gassed cotton thread, water-proof sewing thread, etc. The products are widely used for industries of garments, shoes, furniture, luggage, automotive, etc.
Huamei obtained certificates of ISO9001:2000, ISO14001:2004 and Swiss Oeko-Tex Standard 100. It was awarded by Ningbo government as Green Manufacturing Company. Spun polyester sewing thread with Dunhuang Brand once won a silver medal of National Quality Prize. Dunhuang Brand, an export brand cultivated and developed by Ministry of Commerce of China, has won Zhejiang Name Brand and Zhejiang Famous Trademark for many years. Huamei is also authorized to produce sewing thread and embroidery thread with A&E and RA brands that have been enjoying good reputations in the world for their superior quality.
Its products are exported to nearly one hundred countries and regions such as America, Canada, Japan, Europe, Africa, South America, etc. The domestic sales cover provinces and cities such as Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Liaoning, Shanghai, Tianjing, etc.
